Panel Content: This panel organized by NASAMER focused on topical past and present milestones of EU-Türkiye relations. The composition of the panel was such that it combined academic and practical concerns. The first two speakers of the panel, Prof Dr Bertil Emrah Oder and Asst. Prof Dr Zeynep Ayata presented an in depth analysis of EU Commission’s latest Progress Report on Türkiye. The following speaker Prof Dr Atilla Eralp provided insight with regard to the EU’s perception of Türkiye as well as his predictions on of Türkiye-EU relations. Finally, Semih İdiz, emphasized the role played by the EU in Turkish Politics and its practical implications. The event was attended by a large number of undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty members of Koç University. After the short interventions of the panel members, the questions and answers session turned into a lively debate on the future of Türkiye-EU relations with stimulating questions from the audience.
