Date: 5-7 October 2017

Place: Koç University, Rumelifeneri Campus

Conference Content: Koç University Law School, in cooperation with IFA Türkiye and IFA Central, organised an International Tax Conference under the ‘IFA David R. Tillinghast Research Program’ on 5 – 7 October 2017. The conference title was set as “Cross-border Tax Challenges in the 21st Century”. The conference program was designed to touch on the major themes of the OECD’s ‘Base Erosion and Profit Shifting’ (BEPS) project with a particular focus on how developing countries outside major regional concentrations deal with international tax policy, tax administration and other issues shaped and influenced by the BEPS. The aim of the D.R.T. Conference was to provide the opportunity for Turkish, European and even worldwide tax professionals and tax academics to participate in the mainstream of the current international tax discussions and to share their thoughts with others from different regions. Many academics and practitioners from several countries, including United States and Canada participated in the conference as speaker and chair. In total, 240 participants attended this two day conference.

The papers presented in the symposium were published as a book in April 2018.
