NASAMER, founded within Koç University Law School in 2007 with the contributions of Dr. Nüsret Arsel and Semahat Arsel, performs activities in the broad field of international business law.

International and comparative legal research and inter-institutional cooperation have gained considerable prominence in view of the diversity of resources of international business law, Türkiye’s integration with the global system and the developments in information technologies. In this regard, the Center’s research focus lies in observing the initiatives for the harmonization of private law rules along with the developments in international business law, and determining their potential impact on the national law. The Center operates accordingly to support research in the broad field of international business law, improve cooperation with national and international organizations, organize impactful academic events and to promote research-oriented legal education.

The Center attaches special importance to the relationship of international business law and new technologies, sustainability, and gender equality. Within this framework, the Center’s fields of study include the following: European Union law, banking and financial regulation, maritime law, intellectual property, law and economics, insolvency law, data protection, competition law, insurance law, corporate social responsibility, corporate law, corporate taxation, commercial law and contracts, commercial litigation and arbitration.
