This seminar & certificate programme was delivered Robert Merkin QC (University of Exeter / University of Reading) and Özlem Gürses (King’s College London) on 27 November 2020 where it was discussed whether losses caused by the inability of enterprises to continue their business, especially during the pandemic, could be recoverable under business interruption insurance policies. Emphasis was placed on case law from Common Law countries such as the UK, Australia and South Africa. The event was well attended by representatives of insurance companies in Türkiye and abroad, lawyers, academics and students. The seminar was co-chaired by Samim Ünan and Ayşegül Buğra and was organised by Ayşegül Buğra as part of her Jean Monnet Module project which is being run with the support of the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union.
